RSA Conference 2011 - The Human Impact Of Road Collisions

On Thursday the 26th of May 2011, the Road Safety Authority held a conference entitled ‘The Human Impact Of Road Collisions’ in Dublin Castle. The RSA hold annual conferences focusing on various important road safety issues. There were many distinguished guest speakers participating in the conference, sharing their wealth of knowledge and experiences with the audience. Speakers such as; the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Mr Leo Varadkar T.D, specialist consultants and doctors, and victims of road collisions and their families, presented to the audience and were also readily available for questions and answers after each session. The personal stories recounted by the victims of road collisions and their families, were both heart wrenching and inspirational, and will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on everyone in attendance.

The Emergency Services comprising the Dublin City Fire Brigade and Ambulance Services, were also present at the conference and proceeded to give a real life demonstration of the Emergency Services in action, responding to a road user in trauma after a road collision.

This conference was both informative and gripping for all involved, with all aspects of the day demonstrating the ongoing hard work and dedication of the RSA to reduce the number of deaths and collisions on Irish roads.
